Weekend Vermont Trip

Jenny, myself, and Nera were in Vermont this past weekend for my younger brother's wedding so we took the opportunity to get in some sweet mountain biking at Burke. We were hoping to catch up with Hunter and Zach while we were there but that didn't end up working out much to Nera's dissapointment. On the way back we had planned on hiking up Mt. Belvedere but with our poor sense of direction ended up about 15 miles north on the Long Trail headed up Hazen's Notch. A good hike none the less. We also saw two Moose on the drive over which was pretty cool, didn't get a good picture though. The pictures are the inside of the Hazen's Notch Cabin and the view from there to Jay Peak.

As you can see from the pic its pretty much a heated coffin. I need to start testing it out with skis to see what modifications I need to make. It has a digital thermoprocessing unit that you can't see in this picture. I have had it up to 150 degrees F within about 15 minutes of turning it on so I think getting it to a high enough temp won't be a problem. The trick will be figuring out where to mount the fans so that we get good air circulation and an even temp throughout the box.
For training I have been mostly road biking and running. This coming weekend we will be visiting my parents in Glover, VT and so plan to get over to the mountain biking trails in Burke. I hope it dries out again by then so the trails will be good.
