Yesterday Kristen Bednar '09 raced the Tupper Lake Tinman Triathlon, a half ironman distance race that draws competitors from all over the US and Canada. Kristen finished 2nd in her age category of 20-24 and 111th overall in the 608 person field (16th woman overall).
Kevin Emblidge '06 also competed finishing 48th overall and 6th in his age group. Kevin unfortunately suffered some severe back spasms toward the end of the bike frustrating his efforts to move up throughout the run which is his strongest part of the race typically.
Simply finishing this grueling race in the high heat and humidity was quite an accomplishment.
Way to go Kristen and Kevin!
